INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING AN END SPLICE

To better illustrate these instructions, we used two different colors of rope
and refer to them as "primary" and "secondary."

    
  end splice step 1 STEP 1
Singe ends of rope over match

 flame to prevent unravelling.

  
  end splice step 2 STEP 2
Take singed end of primary

rope and insert into fid.

  
  end splice step 3 STEP 3
Enter fid through secondary

rope 6" from end.

  
  end splice step 4 STEP 4
Pass fid through

center of secondary rope.

  
  end splice step 5 STEP 5
Remove fid, leaving end of primary rope buried in secondary rope.		  
  end splice step 6 STEP 6
Insert the 6" tail of secondary tope into fid.		  
  end splice step 7 STEP 7
Insert fid into primary rope close to the exit point of the secondary rope.		  
  end splice step 8 STEP 8
Pass fid through center of primary rope as far as possible. Remove fid leaving end buried.		  
  completed end splice Draw hand over splice to smooth and tighten.

Your end splice is now complete!
